We are extremely proud to announce that the new WIDER 150 was crowned winner of the prestigious Neptune award within the category "Displacement Motor Yacht under 500 GT, 42m to 46.9m" at the World Superyacht Awards held in Florence on Saturday 14th May.
Not only did the 47 meters outshine all competitors within her class but she was additionally awarded a special commendation prize for Technology and Innovation, in recognition of the Diesel Electric Propulsion System combined with the intelligent layout and use of the forepeak for the four variable speed generators to create more usable guest areas in the midship.
"This class contained many excellent yachts, most of which displayed significant pedigree, but the judges chose a newcomer as the winner. In the judges' view, this vessel is the epitome of a modern yacht, incorporating the best of today's design trends and introducing many original ideas, while scaling down desirable features that, so far, have only been seen on much larger yachts. The judges particularly admired her bright interior spaces and the clean exterior lines, together with the superb beach club in the stern that, among other features, combines the functions of tender dock and swimming pool." Said the chairman of the Judges, Roger Lean Vercoe.
