Among the many guests who visited during the recent Monaco Yacht show, the visit of his Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was of particular significance.

Prince Albert II expressed great appreciation, and considerable insight, for the technology employed onboard the ground-breaking superyacht. However, his visit was not only to see first-hand a yacht that has been so widely publicized and talked about: the Prince, together with the CEO of RINA, Ugo Salerno, bestowed the vessel with the prestigious RINA PLATINUM GREEN PLUS AWARD. Presented annually to the best yacht over 40 m, the award recognizes that the WIDER 150 exceeds every other yacht in terms of her “green” credentials, taking in to consideration fuel consummation, as well as overall environmental impact from construction.
Having already won prizes for best yacht in class at the 2016 MYS Award Ceremony, World Superyacht Awards and World Yachts Trophy, the addition of this important and prestigious award further cements WIDER’s reputation as a shipyard that offers genuine innovation that is a benefit to yacht owners and their crew whilst using modern technology to ensure it has a low environmental impact.
