Significant progress on Wider 165 – Project Cecilia

A busy month at the shipyard has seen significant progress on the WIDER 165 ‘Cecilia’, which remains on track for her launch in late Q1 of 2018.

Having recently installed the switch boards that control the power requirements for both hotel as well as propulsion another significant milestone is due to be completed in the next week: the installation of the azimuthal pods and electric motors which offer increased manoeuvrability compared to the twin shafts used on traditional yachts.

In the interim, the painting of the WIDER 165 has advanced significantly with both the entire sundeck and upper deck having received show coats. Work on the hull is also on schedule for a show coat to be applied at the beginning of the New Year. Inside, crew cabins on the lower deck are now being outfitted and the guest cabins are beginning to show the beauty of materials used and the elegant contemporary Italian styling.

“We are satisfied with progress but obviously still lots to do to ensure we achieve our target of launching in late Feb/early March,” said Stefano Talamonti, Project Manager on the 165. “We have nearly 50 people on board at the moment with the same number of sub-contractors working on shore. This will increase over the coming months to ensure we maintain our schedule” he continued.

As with all our yachts, the WIDER 165 is designed for those who enjoy being out on the water, are looking for generous outdoor spaces to do so, and demand all of the indoor comforts of a high-spec home backed up by state-of-the-art engineering.

Setting her apart, is the 98m² beach club with a 7m pool – larger than any competitor – which converts to store a 32’ rigid tender. In addition, her diesel electric propulsion using azimuthal pods – the same proven system as used on the WIDER 150 – ensures that she will be the quietest among yachts in the same size range.

On the foredeck, the helicopter-landing pad, unique to the WIDER 165, and circular seating areas set into the superstructure, forward of a large Jacuzzi tub, offer a versatile space that will double as generous dance floor for fun evenings afloat.

The WIDER 165, project ‘Cecilia’, is available for sale at 30M euro and is scheduled to be launched in Q1 of 2018, with final delivery in time for next summer.
